Jay-Z is coming to the defense of his friend and colleague, Rihanna, in the wake of her alleged violent attack at the hands of boyfriend Chris Brown. While speaking with reporters during NBA All-Star Weekend in Phoenix, Ariz., the hip-hop mogul, who first signed Rihanna to his label during his tenure as President of Island Def Jam back in 2004, pleaded with the media to handle the situation – and those involved – with sensitivity. “It’s not a sound bite. In an interview with PEOPLE, Rihanna’s father, Ronald Fenty, said that when he first heard that his daughter had been attacked by Chris Brown, “I didn’t believe it. “I know my daughter,” said Fenty, 55. As for Brown, he said, “You think you know somebody, but you really don’t.” Describing Rihanna’s current condition after seeing her on Thursday, Fenty said, “There is some bruising. She will be all right. I think so. At some point, she will speak out. I hope she will stand up for women all over the world.” Fenty, a salesman and freelance clothing designer, said Rihanna is spending time with girlfriends while she heals. New information regarding the reason as to why the argument started has been coming out. TMZ reports that Chris Brown received a text message from another woman while he was driving with Rihanna and that’s what started the argument between the two. Apparently I the text messages were from another woman wanting to hook up with Chris later. According to Bossip they received “the real story” of Chris and Rihanna’s fight from an alleged highly placed source in the Chris Brown legal camp:

They were in the car leaving the Clive Davis party. While Chris was driving, he got a phone call from a young lady. Our source tells us that Rihanna knew that Chris had been messing around with this particular girl and she has, as of late, been the reason for many of their heated arguments. Rihanna got a glimpse of the phone, saw the name and number and immediately recognized who it was. She went ballistic and began to “beat the sh*t� out of Chris (while driving). She was so uncontrollable, that Chris began to fight back in self defense, which ensued the fight. Rihanna’s rage stemmed from Chris’ questionable fidelity in the last few months.

Rihanna wants people to know that is she “okay”. The message was sent by a close friend, a day after boyfriend Chris Brown and Rihann had there altercation. Rihanna’s grandmother, Clara Brathwaite, told the Daily Nation: “I don’t want people to worry. This was suppose to be Rihanna’s month, she will be turning 21 on February 20, 2009. Rihannas big night was now been destroyed due to tragic events, and what was going to be a big, splashy party in New York City has now been, understandably, canceled. Acording to E! Online her record label had been planing the party for over a month, it was expected to have about 200 or so guest. The bash was going to have a carnival theme with variouse “sideshows” attractions.

After much drama about what Rihanna would be wearing at the concert in Malaysia, the show has now been postponed. Acording to The Associated Press, Rihanna’s reps informed Malaysia’s Pineapple Concerts that the February 13 show would have to be rescheduled “in light of recent events involving Rihanna.” There is now word yet as to when the new date will be, sources say with in two weeks, but its very unlikely.

It has now been revealed that Rihannas injuries are severe, she had two “huge contusions” on both sides of her forehead, a bloody lip and nose. An officer has compared the injuries to “an MMA fighter or something … [It] looked like she was growing devil’s horns.” Police took pictures of Rihanna’s injuries and they are said to be “horrific.” Rihanna has some serious swelling and bruising. Her lip is split and her nose bloody. It’s been confirmed that there are bite marks on one of her arms and on several fingers. Rihanna claims Chris struck her with his fists and that’s what did the damage. Rihanna had refused treatment at the scene, but went to a hospital later on Sunday. If Rihanna doesn’t cooperate with the police the photos alone are “devastating proof of abuse.” It has also been revealed that Rihanna was no the one who called 911, but some one in the are that heard her screams and called.

We were the first to report that Rihanna was at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. Now source has revealed to Radar Online that this is in fact true. Rihanna was seen at the hospital and was being treated for injuries, allegedly caused by Chris Brown. The eyewitness revealed to Radar Online:

“It was some time after 12PM PST [Sunday] and I had been waiting in the ER department corridor when Rihanna was brought through the back entrance on a gurney, flanked by two LAPD officers. It was impossible to know it was her at first because when they wheeled her past me, she had the hood on her fuchsia-colored sweatshirt tightly drawn round her face and she was wearing big brown sunglasses. They took her into room 14 which was opposite me. It had a six-foot glass door but the nurses drew a privacy curtain around it.”

“I knew the person was famous because of all the attention she was being given by security and medical staff. However, they didn’t draw the curtain all the time and I was finally able to make out that the woman they had brought in was Rihanna. She was lying in bed. While the two police officers waited outside, Rihanna was seen by the doctor. When he left, a plain clothes officer in a mismatched suit went in. I figured he was a detective because I saw the handcuffs in his belt. He stayed in there for about an hour.” (Read more)

New reports have surfaced stating that singer Rihana, full name Roybn Rihanna Fenty, is in fact the victim in the criminal threats by boyfriend Chris Brown. Rihanna was assaulted with a deadly weapon, there is not word yet as to what that weapon is. Brown is also looking at nine years in prison as Rihanna does seem to have visible injuries and making criminal threats is punishable by up to nine years, domestic abuse is 4 years. UPDATE: It is now said that there was no weapon involved, despite the police report, no weapon was involved in the incident. TMZ is also reporting that “Rihanna suffered contusions and bite marks.“

Singer Christopher Brown was booked in to the custody of Los Angeles Police Department on February 8, 2009 at 6:30. Brown was charged with one count of felony criminal threats. The YBF is reporting that the car accident story is completely false and is intended to throw everyone off. Rihanna is the victim of domestic violence and is pressing charges against her boyfriend Chris Brown. After leaving Clive Davis party lastnight, the two got into a physical altercation in their limo and Chris punched Rihanna in the face. According to TMZ, singer Chris Brown has just turned himself in to the LAPD. As previously posted Brown is going under investigation for an alleged assault against girlfriend Rihanna, FOX News reports. X17 has also reported that Brown already turned himself in, “Chris went to the Wilshiren divison of the Los Angeles police department, around 4:30 PM today, and stayed for about 10 minutes.”

As of now this is just a rumor, and hopefully not true. I got word that Rihanna is currently at at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. The source went on to say that Rihanna has filed a police report on Chris Brown, though she left her name out of the report. Brown fled the scene but left his car there. There is ALLOT of buzz going on right now as to what is going on with Rihanna and Chris Brown and as to why they are not attending the awards. Sources have raveled that they were involved in a car accident, but recent reports have indicate that the LAPD is investigating Chris Brown for an alleged assault to an undisclosed woman at 12:30 AM on Sunday in in the Hancock Park neighborhood. Police report that Chris and the woman were arguing in the car, later they both got out of the car and the argument escalated. When contacting Rihann’s reps they said “Rihanna is well.
