    Halloween Special: Celebrity Nightmares

What better time to talk about celebrity nightmares than on Halloween? I interviewed So, What Did You Dream Last Night? author Lauri Loewenberg, who has analyzed the dreams of many famous Hollywood folks, and she spills their nightmare secrets. The most memorable celebrity interaction was with Rihanna. She had a nightmare about watching a plane crash into a building and pieces of it landing on her brother. Naturally, she had no idea why she had this dream and worried it might be telling her something bad was going to happen to her brother.

In a quick date with the press at the Dusit Thani Hotel, Rihanna – 18 and already one of the world’s most watched entertainers – laid out her plans for a European tour with the Pussycat Dolls. Next album? Not started yet, but it’ll be “fun and sassy”. Influences? Reggae and R&B. Definition of success? Achieving your own goals and being happy with what you’ve done. Life, she said, “is not a destination but a journey”.

Gross lyrics are music for teens’ ears

A growing number of Indian teens are tuning in to raunchy English songs where men are portrayed as “sex-driven studs” and women as “sex objects”.

While parents in the West do not allow their children to listen to lyrics with sexual overtones or violent wordings that glamorise crime, Indian parents, who usually do not follow the lyrics, seem blissfully unaware of the effect it can have on their kids.

A recent study published in the August issue of Pedriatics, a prestigious medical journal, suggests x-rated lyrics may push kids into early sex. And several other studies have proved beyond doubt that violent lyrics promote crime.

Sameera Rao, a Class 7 student of DPS, Noida, likes Rihanna. Her songs are mushy with sexual overtones and a hit with even primary school girls.

I think this is a little over-rated. Rihanna does not sing of sexual music, A Girl Like Me, is not a caution CD. It’s for teens and adults, people need to learn how to just get over thier boredom.

While Rihanna was promoting Barbados on one of the United States’ radio stations, 95.5 The Beat, based in Atlanta, Georgia, its marketing department was motivated to choose the island as destination for its annual “Party Plane To Paradise” promotion. “One of our premier artistes on 95.5 The Beat FM is Rihanna. Upon finding out that she was from Barbados, I decided to call the [Barbados] Tourism Authority (BTA) and to find out if we could do a promotion to send winners over,” explained Caroline Riegel, director of marketing who brought 32 winners to the island.

Rihanna gets bad reviews in Honolulu

Maybe the Barbadian pop star is just too circuit tired but when she appeared in Honolulu for the second time in three months she received bad reviews for a performance full of flaws. The 18-year-old continues to tour in support of her sophomore album, “A Girl Like Me”, released in April. The Honolulu Star-Bulletin said that the sound was out of whack with her recorded background vocals over-powering her.
